Job Description
This role involves designing and managing land development projects, including site layout, utility, roadway, and grading design, as well as permitting, cost estimation, and client coordination, primarily within civil engineering for various types of developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering cost estimates and design calculations
- Develop conceptual site layouts, utility, roadway, and grading designs
- Conduct floodplain studies and prepare permit applications
- Assist in feasibility studies, master planning, and design of water, sewer, and storm facilities
- Review and prepare project specifications and final construction drawings
- Mentor and delegate tasks to Staff Engineers
- Coordinate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and billing
- Participate in business development and client meetings
- Represent the firm professionally at meetings and hearings
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development or related engineering fields.
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Strong understanding of local governmental public and private development codes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be fluent in the English language.
- Physical ability to sit and talk or hear frequently, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work occasionally in outside weather conditions for extended periods.

Compensation range: $80,000 - $109,600 USD
