Responsible for performing design engineering and associated tasks for government projects under the guidance of a Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Performs professional engineering and design work for government clients.
Prepares reports, plans, specifications, construction schedules and permits for transportation, water/wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Obtains and evaluates pertinent field data for proposed construction projects.
Prepares engineer’s opinion of probable cost and engineering design calculations.
Assists with development plan reviews for compliance with local ordinances.
Maintains a good relationship with clients.
Prepares permit applications for capital projects.
Assists in preparation of proposals for engineering services.
Mentors and assists with training Staff Engineers.
Delegates specific project assignments to Staff Engineers.
Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
Shares responsibility for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Participates in business development activities.
Professionally represents the firm at client meetings/hearings.
Assists with the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, billing and A/R.
Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Registered professional engineer with five years design experience in government capital projects, including transportation, water/wastewater and stormwater improvements.
