Job Description
The role involves collaborating on civil engineering projects by preparing site plans, analyzing survey data, providing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for career growth into project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and surveys
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project task execution
- Prepare engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring for potential career growth
Requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages to ensure timely and within-budget completion of assignments.
- Experience in collaborating closely with production teams to draft, review, and finalize preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Ability to analyze project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents, to assess existing site conditions.
- Experience in preparing reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, storm sewer reports, and other technical engineering documents.
- Ability to provide construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates, and direct junior team members in these tasks.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering or related field.
- Educational background in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
- Physical ability to perform tasks related to site analysis and construction support, which may include fieldwork (implied by job duties, though not explicitly stated).
