Job Description

The role involves collaborating with team members to design residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including site layout, utility, roadway, stormwater, and grading designs, as well as preparing reports, drawings, and permit applications to support project development and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design residential, commercial, and industrial site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Prepare conceptual site layouts, grading analyses, and site layout plans
  • Conduct site analysis reports, utility computations, stormwater management, and earthwork analysis
  • Assist in producing final construction drawings and permit applications
  • Support project managers and communicate with clients regarding project progress
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
  • Attend client and public meetings, including evenings or days
  • Participate in business development efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in site design, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to design site plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, including preparing conceptual grading analyses and site layout.
  • Ability to prepare and compute due diligence site analysis reports, engineer opinion of probable costs, utility computations, detention retention computations, storm water reports, and earthwork analysis.
  • Ability to assist in the production of final construction drawings.
  • Ability to prepare permit applications for applicable municipal agencies.
  • Ability to assist project managers and communicate effectively with clients regarding specific projects.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary to complete projects.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of people.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to frequently sit and talk or hear, and occasionally stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work outside in weather conditions occasionally for extended periods.
