Job Description

A Civil Engineer at Atwell, LLC, is responsible for designing and analyzing site plans, assessing project data, preparing reports, supporting construction activities, and utilizing engineering software to deliver comprehensive land development solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

Draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Analyze project survey data to assess existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, surveys, easements, and condo documents.
Prepare reports and recommendations such as hydrology studies, site analysis reports, cost estimates, project schedules, and permit applications.
Support construction activities by preparing permit applications, quantity estimates, and organizing site and construction plans.
Utilize engineering software like AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD to complete engineering tasks efficiently.
Collaborate with team members through effective written and verbal communication to ensure project coordination.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
8 years of experience in civil engineering related to land development projects
PE (Professional Engineer) license preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages such as WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD
Ability to draft preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards
Experience in analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents
Ability to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, due diligence site analysis reports, engineer’s opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading
Experience in providing construction support services including permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals
Ability to organize site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of senior staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and project coordination
