Job Description
A Civil Engineer EIT role supporting project teams in designing and managing civil engineering projects, including site planning, permitting, and field assessments, while collaborating with clients and agencies to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project teams by leading design aspects and addressing engineering issues.
- Prepare, review, and finalize project documents including site plans, reports, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications.
- Make edits and modifications to plans based on client and agency feedback.
- Research local and state zoning requirements for projects.
- Conduct site visits and analyze survey data to inform development factors.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to complete engineering assignments.
- Communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, and agencies under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Update Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status.
- Apply fundamental engineering concepts to practical project situations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience in civil engineering, with experience leading design aspects of development projects preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Grading Design, Technical Writing, 3-D Modeling, MS Office, and Plan Interpretation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent workload management skills
- Ability to research local and state zoning requirements for properties and projects
- Ability to conduct site visits and field assignments
- Ability to analyze site survey data and consider development factors
- Ability to utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to complete assignments efficiently and according to quality standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, and agencies under the direction of the Project Manager
- Ability to update Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts to practical situations
