Job Description

A Mechanical Engineer at Astrodyne TDI will lead the design and analysis of switching mode power supplies, ensuring mechanical and thermal reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of Switching Mode Power Supplies within a multidisciplinary team
  • Perform thermal analysis of electronic circuits to ensure reliability
  • Design products for manufacturability
  • Participate in design reviews and perform DFMEA analysis of mechanical designs
  • Generate detailed engineering drawings complying with industry standards
  • Support other mechanical designers and engineers as needed
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure on-time project completion

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Proficient with CAD software packages, specifically ProE Creo preferred, and 2D CAD software experience
  • Experience in material selection and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to perform thermal analysis of electronics circuits to ensure reliability
  • Ability to perform design for manufacturability and participate in design reviews
  • Ability to perform DFMEA analysis of mechanical designs as part of a Switch Mode Power Supply system
  • Ability to generate high quality and complete engineering drawings complying with industry standards
  • Ability to support other mechanical designers and engineers when necessary
  • Ability to coordinate with all relevant internal departments for on-time project completion
