Job Description
The Senior Energy Analyst supports decision analysis for renewable and storage project development, providing market forecasts, asset valuation, and risk management insights to clients in the power industry. The role involves quantitative modeling, market analysis, and client collaboration to optimize energy assets and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead quantitative analysis and deliver results to clients on time
- Provide expertise in analytic modeling for revenue forecasts, asset valuation, risk management, and renewable integration
- Develop new approaches to represent results supporting decision analysis
- Create clear reports and presentations from complex information
- Perform in-depth analysis of power market operations
- Solve complex analytic problems for critical energy supply decisions
- Serve as a technical resource for scoping, building, deploying, and launching analytic tools
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of prior experience in energy analysis or related field.
- A total of 5 years of prior work experience for a Senior Analyst in energy with a utility, consulting firm, government, or non-profit organization, with a focus on energy.
- Understanding of energy modeling systems and methods.
- Command of wholesale power market structures and value streams.
- Demonstrated track record of working with clients and team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, teamwork skills, organization, and work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem solve with minimum supervision.
- Strong analytical skills in analyzing and explaining complex data.
- Master’s or PhD degree in economics, engineering, or energy (preferred).
- Proficiency with analytic software programming languages such as R, Python, or other languages (preferred).
- Previous experience in project management.
- Knowledge of deregulated power markets operations and/or Distributed Energy Resource (DER) programs.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: 80,000 - 95,000 for Energy Analyst, 95,000 - 125,000 for Senior Analyst, negotiable based on qualifications and experience
