The Data Scientist will develop and improve market price forecasting models, analyze power market data, and provide insights to support energy storage investments and asset management within Arevon's renewable energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Improve price forecast models for power markets including day-ahead, real-time, and long-term projections.
Analyze large-scale power market datasets to identify trends, drivers, and risks.
Translate quantitative research and market analysis into actionable insights for trading, asset management, and investment decisions.
Stay current on market rules, regulatory changes, and emerging energy market trends and incorporate this knowledge into modeling and strategy.
Requirements
Direct experience working with power market data and analytics such as CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO, PJM, or similar power markets.
Experience in modeling, forecasting, or optimizing within power energy markets.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis and quantitative modeling.
Advanced programming skills in Python or R.
Strong SQL skills.
Proficiency with mathematical programming, optimization, and model validation.
Ability to manage and analyze large, unstructured datasets using distributed computing platforms.
