Job Description
The BESS Quality and Reliability Engineer at Arevon will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), ensuring their reliability and performance while collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. This role involves troubleshooting, implementing improvement strategies, and mentoring team members in BESS technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and share technical expertise on BESS technology, operation and maintenance, and control systems.
- Support BESS technology selection, system sizing, and integration.
- Lead and support troubleshooting of BESS systems in operational projects.
- Develop and implement improvement strategies for BESS systems.
- Manage quality tracking of BESS operating assets.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on lessons learned.
- Conduct root cause analysis reviews with OEMs to resolve chronic issues.
- Lead technical due diligence for selecting new BESS technologies.
- Mentor and provide training on BESS-related topics.
- Manage multiple operating assets simultaneously.
- Support Procurement in BESS technology and equipment OEM qualification.
- Ensure BESS operating assets adhere to regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in a BESS technical role is highly preferred.
- 5 years of equivalent work experience or 10 years of experience in a similar industry field experience will also be considered.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of BESS technologies, power electronics, control systems, and grid integration.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
- Ensure BESS operating assets adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines.
