Key Responsibilities
- Arevon is recruiting for an Associate, Project Management & Construction within the Construction department. This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career professional seeking broad exposure to the development and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- The Associate, Project Management & Construction will support Project Managers and the broader PM&C team in planning, contracting, constructing, commissioning, and closing out utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. Working cross-functionally with Development, Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, Project Finance, Operations, and external contractors, this role will help maintain accurate project information, strengthen project controls, coordinate deliverables, and identify emerging risks. The position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Project Management & Construction.
- The ideal candidate has renewable energy experience and a degree in a related field. They are analytical, organized, proactive, and eager to build a career in renewable energy project delivery. They communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and are comfortable working across technical, commercial, and administrative workstreams. They can manage multiple priorities, synthesize information from several sources, and produce concise, decision-ready work products in an environment with changing priorities and timelines. Key strengths include budget analysis, organization, clear communication, and the ability to meet tight deadlines for multiple internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will thrive in an environment that requires flexibility and adaptation to changing priorities, shifting demands, and evolving timelines.
- Assist with preparation of monthly project reports, executive updates, meeting materials, and other concise summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions and action items, and follow up with responsible parties to support timely completion.
- Review contractor submittals, invoices, schedules, progress reports, change order requests, and supporting documentation for completeness and alignment with project requirements.
- Support budget tracking, cash flow forecasting, invoice review, accruals, commitments, forecast updates, and budget-to-actual variance analysis in coordination with Project Managers and Accounting.
- Maintain change order, claim, contingency, and commercial issue logs and organize supporting records for Project Manager review.
- Assist with review and analysis of EPC and major equipment schedules, including milestone tracking, critical activities, look-ahead planning, and recovery actions.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Procurement to track design deliverables, long-lead equipment, manufacturing milestones, logistics, and site delivery dates.
- Support permitting, utility, interconnection, land, environmental, and other compliance workstreams by tracking requirements, submittals, approvals, and outstanding actions.
- Help maintain organized and complete project records in accordance with document control requirements, including contracts, correspondence, drawings, reports, and closeout documentation.
- Support site teams with progress verification, issue tracking, photo documentation, punch lists, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Assist with project risk identification and mitigation, and lessons learned tracking.
- Perform data analysis and quality checks to identify inconsistencies, trends, risks, and opportunities that require Project Manager attention.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counterparties to resolve routine project issues and escalate material concerns promptly.
- Help prepare project funding, lender, tax equity, insurance, and stakeholder support packages by compiling accurate project status and backup documentation.
- Perform other project management and construction support activities consistent with the needs of the PM&C team.
- Support project financial closeout, including final invoices, retainage release, contract reconciliation, capitalization support, and transition to Operations and Asset Management.
- Support Arevon’s safety-first culture by tracking contractor safety deliverables, observations, corrective actions, incident follow-up, and required reporting, and promptly escalating unsafe conditions or gaps in contractor compliance.
- Maintain trackers for key contractual obligations, notices, deliverables, payment milestones, warranties, insurance requirements, and required approvals, and elevate potential noncompliance or missed deadlines for Project Manager review.
Requirements
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, construction management, business, finance, supply chain, data analytics, or a related discipline.
- Up to two years of relevant experience in project management, construction, engineering, project controls, renewable energy, or a related field. Relevant internships or co-op experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to organize detailed information, maintain accurate records, and follow assignments through completion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail and data quality.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently with appropriate direction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project needs.
- Ability to travel approximately 25-50% to project sites and other company locations as business needs require.
- Experience or internship exposure in utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, power generation, infrastructure, or commercial construction is preferred.
- Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, document management, cost tracking, contract administration, or construction field operations is preferred.
- Experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Aconex, SiteTracker, Power BI, Bluebeam, ArcGIS, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Interest in renewable energy, project delivery, process improvement, and the use of data and technology to improve execution is preferred.
