Job Description
A Tax Manager in Professional Services at Aprio will lead tax strategies, ensure compliance, and help clients maximize their opportunities within a dynamic, growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee tax planning and compliance for professional services clients
- Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities for clients
- Coordinate and review tax returns and related documentation
- Provide tax advisory and consulting services to clients
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Assist in managing client relationships and business development efforts
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax within a professional services or CPA firm environment.
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations relevant to clients' industries.
- Show proven ability to manage and review complex tax returns and tax planning strategies for diverse clients.
- Have experience leading and mentoring a team of tax professionals, including providing training and guidance.
- Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members, including explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
- Be capable of identifying and resolving tax issues proactively and efficiently.
- Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Be willing to work full-time in a hybrid or remote working environment as required by the firm.
- Possess a strong understanding of professional ethics and compliance standards applicable to tax practice.
- Have experience with tax software and tools commonly used in professional services firms, such as CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar platforms.
