A Tax Manager in Professional Services at Aprio will lead tax strategies, ensure compliance, and help clients maximize their opportunities within a dynamic, growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee tax planning and compliance for professional services clients
Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities for clients
Coordinate and review tax returns and related documentation
Provide tax advisory and consulting services to clients
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
Assist in managing client relationships and business development efforts
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax within a professional services or CPA firm environment.
Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations relevant to clients' industries.
Show proven ability to manage and review complex tax returns and tax planning strategies for diverse clients.
Have experience leading and mentoring a team of tax professionals, including providing training and guidance.
Possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members, including explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
Be capable of identifying and resolving tax issues proactively and efficiently.
Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Be willing to work full-time in a hybrid or remote working environment as required by the firm.
Possess a strong understanding of professional ethics and compliance standards applicable to tax practice.
Have experience with tax software and tools commonly used in professional services firms, such as CCH, ProSystem fx, or similar platforms.
