Job Description

The Tax Director Property Tax at Aprio is responsible for leading property tax strategies, managing client relationships, and providing expert guidance on property tax issues within a fast-growing, innovative CPA and advisory firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee property tax compliance and planning for clients
  • Develop strategies to maximize property tax opportunities for clients
  • Lead and coordinate property tax audits and appeals
  • Provide expert advice on property tax issues and regulations
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate property tax assessments

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in property tax or related tax fields.
  • Demonstrate proven expertise in property tax, including experience in managing property tax compliance, planning, and consulting.
  • Have a strong understanding of federal, state, and local property tax laws and regulations.
  • Possess a CPA license or equivalent professional certification relevant to tax or accounting.
  • Show experience in leading and managing a team of tax professionals.
  • Have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Be able to analyze complex property tax issues and develop strategic solutions.
  • Possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Have experience with property tax audits, appeals, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Have the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Be willing to work in a flexible environment, including remote and hybrid work arrangements.
  • Possess a strong ethical foundation and commitment to compliance and professional standards.
