Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services within a professional CPA and advisory firm, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop technical skills, and participate in professional development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients.
- Interact closely with clients to provide tailored tax strategies.
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning solutions.
- Assist in improving financial reporting capabilities and internal controls for clients.
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations.
- Assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain relationships with middle to large-sized audit and tax clients.
Requirements
- High-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax who want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Ability to work with small, medium, and large clients across a diverse client base, providing opportunities for one-on-one contact with clients and partners.
- Willingness to participate in a 2027 Spring (January - April) or Summer (June - August) internship program that provides on-the-job training and real-world experiences.
- Ability to work with and deliver tax services for multiple clients in a variety of industries, including interacting closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
- Ability to work with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies.
- Ability to work with and form relationships with middle to large-sized tax clients.
- Ability to work with and assist businesses and industry leaders to avoid financial and business risks, improve financial reporting capabilities, evaluate accounting issues, and stay ahead of new accounting regulations.
- Ability to help companies assess the quality of information used for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operational efficiency improvements.
- Willingness to work with credentialed audit experts to improve financial reporting, internal controls, evaluate accounting issues, and stay current with new accounting regulations impacting long-term business growth.
- Ability to work with businesses to assess information quality for strategic decisions and identify operational efficiencies.
- Willingness to work in a team environment with diverse and energetic teams, including working with middle to large-sized audit clients.
- Availability to participate in a structured internship program during specified periods (January-April or June-August).
- Ability to develop a solid general foundation in accounting through hands-on experience and interaction with clients and partners.
- Ability to participate in group projects involving volunteering and social impact as part of the internship program.
