Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop professional skills, and participate in team projects and networking activities within a dynamic CPA and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients
- Interact closely with clients to provide tailored tax strategies
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning solutions
- Assist in improving financial reporting capabilities and internal controls for audit clients
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations
- Assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decision-making
- Build and maintain relationships with middle to large-sized audit and tax clients
Requirements
- Candidates must be high-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax.
- Candidates must want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and be willing to dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be available to participate in the Spring 2027 Internship Program from January to April or the Summer 2027 Internship Program from June to August.
- Candidates must be willing to work at the New York or New Jersey office locations.
- Candidates must have the ability to work with small, medium, and large clients and benefit from a diverse client base.
- Candidates must be able to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering tax planning strategies.
- Candidates must be able to work with businesses to improve financial reporting capabilities, evaluate accounting issues, and stay ahead of new accounting regulations.
- Candidates must be able to assist in assessing the quality of information used for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operational improvements.
- Candidates must be committed to professional development and continuous learning.
- Candidates must be willing to complete a group project involving volunteering and social impact as part of the internship.
- Candidates must be able to participate in networking events and activities to meet other employees and partners within the company.
