Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop professional skills, and participate in team projects and social impact initiatives within a dynamic accounting firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tax planning, consulting, and compliance services for clients.
- Work with audit teams to evaluate financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting issues.
- Develop relationships with middle to large-sized clients through direct interaction.
- Support the delivery of tax and audit services under the supervision of partners and professionals.
- Participate in group projects involving volunteering and social impact activities.
Requirements
- Candidates must be high-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax.
- Candidates must want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and be willing to dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be available to participate in the Spring 2027 Internship Program from January to April 2027 or the Summer 2027 Internship Program from June to August 2027.
- Candidates must be willing to work at the Overland Park and Topeka, Kansas office locations.
- Candidates must have the ability to work with small, medium, and large clients and benefit from diverse client interactions.
- Candidates must be able to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering tax planning strategies.
- Candidates must be able to work with businesses to improve financial reporting capabilities, evaluate accounting issues, and stay ahead of new accounting regulations.
- Candidates must be able to work with teams to assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decisions and identify areas for operational improvement.
- Candidates must be willing to participate in group projects involving volunteering and social impact as part of the internship.
- Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment with diverse and energetic teams.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Candidates must be able to work with a team of credentialed audit experts or tax professionals, depending on the internship focus.
- Candidates must be able to work with clients across various industries and form professional relationships with middle to large-sized clients.
- Candidates must be able to work in a flexible working environment, including remote and hybrid options, if applicable.
