Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services within a professional CPA and advisory firm, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop technical skills, and participate in professional development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients
- Interact with clients to provide tailored tax strategies
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning solutions
- Assist in improving clients' financial reporting capabilities and internal controls
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations
- Assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decision-making
- Participate in group projects involving volunteering and social impact activities
Requirements
- Candidates must be high-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax.
- Candidates must want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and be willing to dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be available to participate in the Spring 2027 Internship (January - April) or Summer 2027 Internship (June - August).
- Candidates must be willing to work at the Overland Park and Topeka, Kansas office locations.
- Candidates must have the ability to work with small, medium, and large clients and benefit from a diverse client base.
- Candidates must be able to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies.
- Candidates must be able to work with businesses to improve financial reporting capabilities, evaluate accounting issues, and stay ahead of new accounting regulations.
- Candidates must be capable of working with companies to assess the quality of information used for strategic business decisions and identify areas for operational improvements.
- Candidates must be able to work with a team of credentialed audit experts or tax professionals to deliver services to clients in various industries.
- Candidates must be willing to work with middle to large-sized audit or tax clients and form relationships with them.
- Candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment with diverse and energetic teams.
- Candidates must be committed to continuous professional development and growth within the firm.
