Job Description
This internship offers hands-on experience in tax and audit services within a dynamic CPA and advisory firm, allowing students to work with diverse clients, develop professional skills, and participate in social impact projects while exploring potential career paths in accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tax services including planning, consulting, and compliance for multiple clients
- Interact closely with clients to understand their tax needs and provide tailored solutions
- Work with partners to develop and implement innovative tax planning strategies
- Assist in improving financial reporting capabilities and internal controls for audit clients
- Evaluate accounting issues and stay updated on new accounting regulations
- Assess the quality of financial information used for strategic decision-making
- Build and maintain relationships with middle to large-sized audit and tax clients
Requirements
- High-potential accounting students interested in Audit and Tax who want to continue Aprio's standard of excellence and dive straight into hands-on accounting projects.
- Candidates must be enrolled in an accounting program and be eligible to participate in the 2027 Spring (January - April) or Summer (June - August) internship programs.
- Ability to work with small, medium, and large clients across a diverse client base.
- Ability to interact closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services, and work closely with partners on delivering innovative tax planning strategies (for Tax Interns).
- Ability to work with businesses and industry leaders to avoid financial and business risks, improve financial reporting capabilities, evaluate accounting issues, stay ahead of new accounting regulations, and assess the quality of information used for strategic business decisions (for Audit Interns).
- Willingness to work in the Chicago metro area office.
- Availability to participate in the internship during the specified program dates (January - April 2027 for Spring, June - August 2027 for Summer).
