Job Description
A Senior Research Engineer specializing in reinforcement learning to develop and evaluate autonomous robot navigation control systems, focusing on advancing robot autonomy, perception, and planning technologies for industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate cutting-edge AI, planning, and control technologies for robot autonomy and intelligence.
- Design proof-of-concept experiments and build research prototypes.
- Assess new technologies and transfer promising ideas to product teams.
- Shape the technology roadmap and guide long-term strategy for robust and reliable solutions.
Requirements
- A proven track record of research and development in robotics, artificial intelligence, planning, or control technologies, with experience evaluating cutting-edge AI, planning, and control technologies from novel environment perception to advanced planning.
- Experience designing proof-of-concept experiments, building research prototypes, and transferring promising ideas to product teams.
- Strong understanding of robot autonomy and intelligence, including environment perception, planning, and control systems.
- Ability to assess new technologies and contribute to shaping the technology roadmap and long-term strategy for autonomous robotic systems.
- Hands-on experimentation skills with robotics hardware and software, demonstrating the ability to develop and test research prototypes.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and partners in a multidisciplinary environment.
- A background in developing or working with mobile robots, sensors such as camera- and LIDAR-based sensing, and obstacle avoidance systems.
- Educational background in a relevant field such as Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with a level of education that supports research and development activities (specific degree requirements are not explicitly stated but implied).
