Job Description
The Software Engineering Manager will lead and support a talented engineering team to develop and enhance Amber's renewable energy technology products, focusing on system and people management, technical strategy, and fostering an inclusive, innovative culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach, grow, and support the engineering team
- Contribute to product, design, and technical strategy discussions
- Drive continuous improvement of the delivery system across the product group
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing learning processes
- Manage performance reviews and team development activities
- Support team and culture building initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering management with a focus on delivery, coaching, and supporting engineering teams.
- Ability to contribute to product, design, and technical strategy discussions at both team and cross-team levels.
- Experience in continuously improving delivery systems across a product group.
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and facilitating ongoing learning processes for engineering teams.
- Experience in performance management and review processes for engineering staff.
- Strong understanding of team and culture building activities to foster a diverse, inclusive, and purpose-driven workplace.
- Full-time availability to work ideally from Melbourne, Australia, or be based anywhere within Australia with full working rights.
- Flexibility to work 4 days a week if desired.
- Experience working in an environment that involves home and office hybrid work arrangements, with the ability to work remotely or in a co-working space as needed.
- Ability to support and promote diversity and inclusion within the team and workplace.
