Job Description
The Senior Tax Accountant at Alarm.com will handle various corporate tax responsibilities, including compliance, tax provision, and working with external advisors to ensure accurate and efficient tax reporting and filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal departments and external advisors to meet data request deadlines for tax compliance and reporting.
- Assist in calculating, documenting, and reviewing ASC 740 tax differences, income tax disclosures, and computations.
- Coordinate with external advisors on federal R&D tax credit studies, including data collection, reconciliation, and filings.
- Prepare calculations for nondeductible foreign R&D costs and state tax credit applications.
- Support the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and workpapers, ensuring alignment with financial reporting.
- Review state income tax apportionment calculations, state income tax returns, and pro forma federal tax returns.
- Assist with income tax audit management by gathering documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Support the documentation and improvement of internal tax processes and perform SOX controls.
Requirements
- Three to six years of tax experience working in a public accounting and or corporate tax function.
- An accounting degree.
- Experience with Alteryx strongly preferred, particularly for optimizing complex tax calculations and transforming large volumes of source data into usable tax workpapers and summaries.
- Experience working with corporate accounting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
