Job Description
The Senior Subsidiary Accountant will support the accounting operations of EnergyHub, including month-end close, invoicing, contract review, and process improvements, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the subsidiary accounting operations for EnergyHub.
- Assist with the month-end close process.
- Help with invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
- Participate in external year-end audits and prepare necessary work papers.
- Review and evaluate contracts under U.S. GAAP for revenue recognition.
- Coordinate project management related to invoicing and process improvements.
- Manage and update invoice tracker, review and approve invoices, and track status.
- Resolve open issues related to invoicing and client requirements.
- Ensure documentation for revisions and special requests is clear and accessible.
- Assist with collections coordination and process revisions with clear documentation.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience working in a public company environment subject to SOX is preferred.
- Must be well-versed in GAAP accounting.
- Previous work experience in the software hardware industry is preferred.
- Assist the manager for EnergyHub’s month-end close process.
- Assist with invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
- Assist with external year-end audits including preparation of necessary work papers.
- Review and evaluate contracts under U.S. GAAP for revenue recognition.
- Manage Invoice Tracker by entering invoice details, reviewing and approving or tracking status, and handling questions and revision requests.
- Add and track other requests such as credit memos or ad-hoc invoices.
- Resolve open issues related to invoicing and contract management.
- Help ensure EnergyHub meets client invoice requirements.
- Participate in developing solutions for special requests and collections coordination.
- Ensure revisions have clear, transparent documentation that is accessible by all teams.
- Must be hands-on and comfortable working independently.
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and multi-task effectively.
