Job Description
The Software Tech Lead at Alarm.com is responsible for leading the development of innovative smart home and IoT solutions, mentoring engineering teams, and managing projects across various technology domains from design to deployment in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineering teams to develop full-stack software across multiple platforms and technologies.
- Own projects from design through deployment, including research and application of new technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively to integrate multiple business needs.
- Engage in hardware and device development, working with physical IoT devices and systems.
- Exercise good judgment to develop robust solutions considering various use cases and project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience
- Experience leading and/or mentoring other engineers
- Expert object-oriented programming skills
- Significant database design and development experience
- Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies
- Experience working with hardware and device development (major plus)
