Job Description

The Software Engineer at OpenEye will be responsible for the development and maintenance of OpenEye Web Services, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to build software solutions while mentoring junior developers. The role requires proficiency in Java and related technologies, and offers a flexible hybrid work schedule in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain OpenEye Web Services (OWS)
  • Manage projects independently and mentor junior developers
  • Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to understand requirements
  • Participate in Agile meetings including sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Contribute to general architecture and timelines with team members

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional Software Development experience, ideally in Object Oriented programming like Java or C.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with the tech stack including Java, Spring, React, Git, and IntelliJ.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and mentor junior developers.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management and other stakeholders to understand requirements and build software.
  • Participation in Agile meetings including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives, and sprint reviews.

Compensation/salary range: 90,000 - 125,000 annually
