EBS is a rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company and part of Alarm.com.
Key Responsibilities
Build and Deliver: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data models that power our access control platform.
Bridge Cloud and Hardware: Build and improve the device communication layer that connects our cloud platform to access control hardware — panels, readers, and locks — including device configuration, firmware update, and real-time event processing flows.
Contribute Across Layers: Develop features across the full stack, including web front-end features (Ember.js), when projects require it.
Lead: Drive technical projects end to end — make architectural decisions, guide design reviews, and ensure scalability, security, and performance.
Mentor & Set Standards: Serve as a technical mentor and role model for the growing Kraków team — onboard new engineers, mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing, and raise the bar for code quality.
Own the Lifecycle: Take part in the entire development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and production monitoring.
Get Hands-On: Work directly with real access control hardware to develop, test, and debug device integrations.
Balance Trade-offs: Know when to iterate quickly and when to build for scale, robustness, and maintainability.
Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, hardware/device engineers, and other software teams across time zones.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of innovation by bringing new ideas and technical improvements to the team.
