Job Description

The Principal Network Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of hybrid cloud network and security infrastructure, while solving complex problems and mentoring technical leaders in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of datacenter and hybrid cloud network and security infrastructure
  • Solve critical and complex problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to infrastructure and operations teams
  • Evangelize the adoption of forward-looking technologies and methods
  • Mentor technical leaders and stakeholders in establishing technical roadmaps
  • Design and implement highly available, high-performance, and scalable networks
  • Manage multi-site ACI implementation and network security measures
  • Design disaster recovery and data center failover architectures
  • Support IoT driven workloads and capacity planning

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. or higher level degree in Computer Science or a similar engineering program with strong academic performance.
  • CCIE in relevant technologies is a must.
  • 15 years of hands-on experience in cloud computing and/or data center operations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, such as AWS and Azure.
  • Multi-site ACI implementation experience.
  • Network security experience including IDS, IPS, Firepower, monitoring platforms, and DDoS Data Protection.
  • Experience with Akamai, CloudFlare, and Microsegmentation.
  • Design of highly available, high performance, highly scalable redundant networks.
  • Experience with ISP management, IPAM, and IPv6 design and deployment at the enterprise and data center.
  • Very strong knowledge of OSPF and BGP for ISP, public clouds, and private peerings.
  • Experience with virtual private networking and security.
  • Experience with F5 load balancer at high scale.
  • Experience with Cisco Networking and Cisco Nexus Monitoring.
  • Experience with containerization, network security, load balancing, and auto-scaling.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS and automation frameworks including Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience supporting IoT driven workloads.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing geographically dispersed infrastructure, multi-site, multi-cloud disaster recovery, and data center failover architectures.
  • Experience with capacity planning and forecasting.
