Job Description
The Data Analyst at Alarm.com is responsible for developing and automating business reports, analyzing data from various sources, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making across multiple functions within a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and automate reports to meet business intelligence and analytical needs
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish relevant business metrics
- Gather requirements and work with product and engineering teams to deliver business metrics
- Interpret business data and generate ongoing reports
- Provide data-driven analysis to support key business decisions
- Review data science models and convert them into reports for analysis
- Communicate findings to all levels of the organization
- Train stakeholders in utilizing reporting tools and analyzing results
- Set standards for data management and identify projects to address data gaps
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or a relevant technical field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience with using SQL for data analysis.
- At least 2 years of experience developing MicroStrategy reports and dashboards, and with the MicroStrategy architecture.
- Demonstrated success when working cross-functionally and the ability to translate technical content to a general audience.
- Understanding of Data Management and the data lifecycle.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and tools, and flexibility to accept a wide range of responsibilities in an innovative and entrepreneurial environment.
- Highly motivated, self-starter that can operate under minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
