Job Description
The role involves leading the regulatory compliance process at Akaysha Energy, focusing on the National Electricity Market regulations and operational compliance frameworks. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to develop compliance plans and policies, manage compliance resources, and enhance the organization's compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Elevate and implement the regulatory compliance uplift program.
- Lead the regulatory compliance process and provide expertise across the business.
- Develop plans, policies, and procedures to demonstrate compliance.
- Manage the Enterprise Compliance repository and maintain compliance resources.
- Prepare quarterly compliance reports and assist in monitoring activities.
- Participate in business improvement projects and provide actionable insights.
- Oversee the migration of documented obligations into the GRC System.
- Advance adherence to ISO 37301 standards.
Requirements
- Possess deep knowledge of National Electricity Market (NEM) regulations, operational compliance frameworks, and best practices in the energy sector.
- Deep understanding of the National Electricity Rules (NER) and compliance obligations for generators and/or Integrated Resource Providers (IRP) in the NEM.
- Familiarity with broader energy sector regulations and compliance frameworks such as environmental laws and safety standards that could impact generators in the NEM.
- Expertise in embedding a culture of compliance and ethical governance and overseeing and delivering compliance initiatives.
- Expertise in implementing and using compliance software systems with solid project management experience.
- Knowledge of change management principles to successfully implement compliance initiatives and software systems within the organisation.
- Understanding of risk assessment processes and methodologies to proactively identify compliance risks.
- Must be an Australian Citizen, hold permanent residency status, or have existing AU working rights to apply for this role.
