Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer at Akaysha Energy will assist in the engineering aspects of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, providing technical specifications and support during project development and delivery, while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in engineering aspects during early project phases
- Support Project Delivery team with technical specifications and tendering
- Conduct design reviews of contractor drawings and reports
- Participate in Safety in Design workshops
- Develop and modify existing processes and specifications for the US market
- Manage external stakeholders including Engineering Design Consultants and Utility Providers
- Provide engineering support during project feasibility gate reviews
- Assist in sizing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Create BESS layouts and single line diagrams
- Prepare specifications for Balance of Plant (BoP) contractors and equipment
Requirements
- Substation design experience
- Technical writing experience
- Design Management experience
- Experience in commercial negotiations
- Mentoring experience
- AutoCAD experience
- Knowledge of the ERCOT Grid Connection Process
- BESS design experience
- US citizenship, permanent residency status, or existing US working rights
