Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer, Pressure Vessel at AIRCO is responsible for supporting the design, development, and review of pressure vessel equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and collaborating with the engineering team to support process designs related to pressure vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support machinery equipment selection, estimating, and design related to pressure vessels
- Aid in the design development and redesign of equipment systems
- Prepare pressure vessel package specifications
- Develop technical bid evaluations and vendor proposals
- Create technical requisition purchase packages
- Conduct equipment design reviews and support all phases of pressure vessel and system fabrication, repair, and testing
- Perform mechanical, thermal, and structural analysis of pressure vessel assemblies
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, and documentation
- Identify specific pressure vessel services and components involved in various equipment such as drums, vessels, and storage tanks
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide mechanical and equipment support for process designs
Requirements
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
- 3-5 years of working experience on reactors, separation columns, heat exchangers, high pressure storage vessels, etc.
- Experience in Industrial Gases, Oil Gas, or Refining and PetroChemical Industry highly desirable
- Knowledge of ASME codes, API standards and NBIC regulations, such as ASME Section VIII Div1 2 codes, API 650 620, API 579 and other industry codes and standards typically used in Pressure Vessel design
- Knowledge of US local regulations CFR, etc. is a plus
- Familiar with safety protocols for handling hazardous chemicals and process HAZOP
- Ability to support machinery equipment selection, estimating, and design work related to pressure vessels
- Ability to prepare pressure vessel package specifications, clarify vendor proposals, develop technical bid evaluations, and create technical requisition purchase packages
- Ability to execute equipment design reviews and support all phases of pressure vessel and pressure system PV S design, fabrication, repair, alteration, testing, inspection, and fitness-for-service analysis
- Ability to conduct reviews of vendor drawings, calculations, and other documentation
- Proficiency in complete mechanical, thermal, and structural design and related analysis of pressure vessel assemblies
- Ability to identify specific pressure vessel services involved in drums, vessels, columns, column internals, filters, coalescers, and storage tanks
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Ability to work closely with the Engineering team to provide mechanical and equipment support for all process designs
