Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned engineering tasks while developing technical, planning, and project management skills.
Complete engineering calculations and analyses related to transmission line structures and support systems.
Support the planning, design, and construction management of transmission line projects.
Assist with root cause analyses of transmission line failures and develop recommendations to improve system reliability.
Apply AES Indiana engineering standards, industry practices, and utility regulations under the guidance of senior engineers.
Participate in professional development opportunities and industry organizations to expand technical expertise.
Assist in maintaining transmission design standards, specifications, and engineering databases.
Support storm response activities and system restoration efforts for transmission lines and substation feeders.
Conduct research, analysis, and special projects and present findings and recommendations to management.
Collaborate with suppliers to procure transmission line structures, materials, and equipment.
Work closely with T&D Planning to implement transmission system improvement projects.
Coordinate with contractors, construction crews, and maintenance personnel to provide field engineering support.
Support System Operations by communicating capabilities, limitations, and impacts of transmission system modifications.
Provide project performance updates, including labor forecasts, budget tracking, and cost reporting.
Support Purchasing with vendor evaluations, qualifications, and procurement recommendations.
Assist Property Accounting with project closeout activities and property unit classifications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering .
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and engineering solutions to engineers, field personnel, and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate across multiple departments, including Project Management, System Operations, T&D Planning, Accounting, Testing, and Substation Services.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to research, evaluate, and present technical recommendations supported by data and engineering principles.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
