Job Description
The Human Resource Associate will support Acumen's Global Talent Team, focusing on recruiting, employee engagement, benefits administration, and compliance, while gaining experience in HR practices across East and West Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Global Talent Team with a focus on East and West Africa.
- Learn and execute the unique recruiting process, including application reviews and candidate shortlisting.
- Schedule interviews with hiring panels and eventually own the entire recruiting cycle.
- Onboard and orient new employees, ensuring completion of onboarding checklists.
- Assist in planning team retreats and celebrations, managing related expenses.
- Support the Talent Manager in enrolling employees in benefits and answering related questions.
- Issue written offers and transition letters under supervision.
- File and document onboarding of new hires according to established protocols.
- Audit employee files to ensure required documentation is in place.
- Assist in immigration needs and issue travel letters for visa applications.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of work experience in a busy HR department.
- Authorized to work in Kenya.
- Available to work in the Nairobi office 3 days a week.
- An ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- An ability to understand compliance across different offices and issue offer letters and benefits in line with local laws.
