Job Description
The Associate Counsel, Portfolio Operations will join the Global Legal Team to manage and advise on legal matters related to 500 Global's portfolio of companies, including investment documentation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate actions, while interacting with founders and co-investors globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate legal review of investment documentation, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate actions.
- Manage legal requests from portfolio companies.
- Understand legalities and shareholder dynamics to design commercial solutions.
- Make defensible decisions in uncertain situations.
- Manage stakeholders and guide outside counsel.
- Ensure completion of transactions.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in venture capital, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), or corporate commercial law.
- Ability to coordinate legal review and undertake review of investment documentation, financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate actions, and other portfolio company legal requests.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
- Excellent emotional intelligence (EQ) and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage stakeholders and guide outside counsel.
- Capability to make smart, defensible decisions in instances of uncertainty or less-than-perfect information.
