Job Description

The Director of SCADA and Controls Integration at Nexamp will lead the center of excellence for controls engineering and SCADA services, overseeing the lifecycle management of solar and energy storage assets while ensuring compliance with regulations and cybersecurity protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Nexamp's center of excellence for controls engineering, programming, and SCADA services.
  • Develop and maintain RTAC controls and SCADA requirements, code and data libraries, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance of on and offsite equipment with regulations, access control protocols, cyber security, and data integrity.
  • Field and maintain Nexamp Vision SCADA platform and promote its implementation on Nexamp and third-party assets.
  • Influence project design, equipment selection, budgets, timelines, and implementation processes across teams.
  • Inspire, mentor, and retain top talent through leadership and professional development.

Requirements

  • 10 years experience with an energy company, utility, SCADA developer, power generation facility, or through comparable government or military work.
  • Comprehensive experience developing, sourcing, budgeting, implementing and troubleshooting remote controls, energy management, SCADA hardware and software, network and communications solutions.
  • Proven track record of project management including cooperating, leading and influencing direct reports, adjacent teams and supporting contractors working toward integrated control solutions as a nationwide owner of energy infrastructure.
  • General knowledge of US power and ancillary service markets, combined with a displayed commitment to fighting climate change through grid modernization and the electrification of America.
  • General knowledge of commercial and utility scale PV and energy storage technologies and operations.
  • General knowledge of NERC requirements for battery energy storage assets.
  • Working knowledge of emerging NERC requirements for inverter based resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
  • Previous experience engaging and inspiring teams to excel while focusing on the growth and well-being of team members.
