Job Description
The Senior Hardware Test Engineer at Aurora will develop and implement testing methodologies for complex hardware systems, collaborate with engineering teams to create validation plans, and perform electrical measurements while supporting junior team members in troubleshooting and testing.
Responsibilities
- •Develop and implement test methodology for hardware operation verification and validation.
- •Create validation test plans, procedures, and reports in collaboration with HW and SW Embedded design teams.
- •Plan, evaluate, and purchase required test equipment for validation work.
- •Perform electrical, functional, and characterization measurements at component, board, and system levels.
- •Deploy automated scripts to test systems, analyze data, and create test reports.
- •Investigate failure root causes and drive product improvements.
- •Support hardware design team with bring-up, experiments, evaluations, and measurements.
- •Train junior team members in troubleshooting, measurements, and testing.
- •Present and document test reports and plans, and review schematic and HW architecture.
- •Setup a test rack with networking on Linux-based OS.
Requirements
- •BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- •Extensive experience in measuring, testing, analyzing, or designing electrical systems.
- •Experience with testing and characterizing communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and MDIO.
- •Proficiency in using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, VNA, TDR, and spectrum analyzers.
- •Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals.
- •Experience working in a Linux environment.
- •Ability to set up test stations with network configurations.
- •Extensive experience in hardware troubleshooting and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
- •Knowledge of shell scripting and Python.
- •Excellent oral and written communication skills.
