Job Description
The Senior Data Platform Engineer at Samsara will build and maintain a scalable and reliable data platform to support data-driven products and decisions across the organization, utilizing technologies like Spark and AWS. This role involves optimizing data workflows, developing high-performance APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the company's data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- •Collaborate cross-functionally to design and implement end-to-end solutions using technologies like Spark, Delta Lake, and Golang.
- •Develop high-performance APIs and interfaces to bring data insights to life for Samsara customers.
- •Optimize data workflows and infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and speed.
- •Design, scope, and build libraries and data management tooling for effective use of the data platform.
- •Ensure uptime, reliability, and monitoring of the data platform.
Requirements
- •4 year professional software experience in a production environment
- •4 years experience on building and maintaining a large scale production-grade data platform including a Data Lake for data scientists, analysts, and engineers
- •Expertise working with Spark
- •AWS knowledge and expertise including S3, Lambda, SQS, Kinesis
