Job Description
This position offers hands-on training for individuals to prepare for roles in plant operations at Enviva, focusing on rail load out, quality control, and machinery operations in a renewable energy environment.
Responsibilities
- •Follow all workplace and job safety procedures
- •Ensure cars are ready for loading and load rail cars according to proper procedure
- •Enter weights in computer for shipping
- •Sample and test raw, in process materials, and finished goods
- •Record testing results
- •Check and adjust hammer mill and pellet mill machines for proper operation
- •Clean machines for maintenance
- •Complete necessary paperwork
- •Operate mobile equipment such as forklift and Bobcat
- •Communicate with Operations team and escalate issues as necessary
- •Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area
Requirements
- •Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required.
- •Excellent communication skills.
- •Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.
- •Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- •Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
- •Work includes high places more than 100 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces.
- •Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
- •Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice.
- •Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
- •Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- •Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
- •Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards.
