Job Description
The Abuse Test Engineer will design, execute, and analyze tests to simulate extreme conditions on new products, ensuring their safety and robustness against real-world abuse. This role involves collaboration with engineering teams to identify failure modes and develop test infrastructure in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- •Design, execute, and analyze tests simulating extreme conditions and misuse scenarios.
- •Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to identify potential failure modes.
- •Intentionally abuse electromechanical and electrochemical systems to stress failure modes.
- •Define and build test infrastructure for efficient and well-documented testing.
- •Use experience with failure mechanisms to help design robust new products.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- •Proven experience in abuse testing, preferably in the energy storage or renewable energy sector.
- •Proficiency in data analysis tools and software e.g., MATLAB, Minitab, Python.
- •Proven experience designing robust, fast-setup data acquisition rigs e.g. temperature sensor and actuation e.g. heater, remote knife switch.
- •Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- •Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- •Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
