Job Description
The Mechanical Engineering Intern Co-op at Redwood Materials will support pilot and commercial scale production operations by leading technical design, troubleshooting equipment, and developing prototypes for new processes in the sustainable battery supply chain.
Responsibilities
- •Lead and support technical design and specification of new mechanical processing equipment and manufacturing facilities.
- •Conduct high-level technical troubleshooting of equipment and electromechanical systems.
- •Develop prototypes, research projects, and experiments for new processes.
Requirements
- •Pursuing a B.S. or advanced degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- •Prior engineering internship experience with a leading technology or manufacturing company.
- •Hands-on experience building products or projects in the workshop or lab and living with your own designs in a functional environment.
- •Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.
- •Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- •Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- •Must be able to communicate clearly.
- •Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
