Job Description
Blue Ridge Power is seeking Heavy Civil Operators to safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and haul trucks for solar project construction and maintenance in Cleveland, NC. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and teamwork to ensure efficient project execution.
Responsibilities
- •Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and haul trucks safely.
- •Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work on civil site features.
- •Read and interpret drawings and specifications for construction and maintenance.
- •Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe operations.
- •Communicate equipment issues effectively.
- •Maintain company vehicles and tools in good working order.
- •Perform maintenance and housekeeping on construction sites.
- •Follow safety rules and wear personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements
- •Must be at least 18 years of age.
- •2 years experience operating either bulldozers, excavators, haul trucks, or a combination of the mentioned equipment.
- •Ability to perform all assigned tasks in a safe and effective manner.
- •Must be able to follow Company safety rules and all other Company policies.
- •Must understand when to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- •Capable of safely operating haul truck, compactor, skid steer, farm tractor, and cart.
- •Must be able to properly grease, fuel, and maintain equipment they are operating.
- •Must be able to communicate issues with equipment they are operating.
- •Must be able to inspect equipment to ensure safe operations.
- •Ability to understand and communicate information and work in a team environment.
- •Maintains company vehicles and tools in good working order.
- •Must demonstrate BRP employee competencies: Grit, Collaboration, Ownership, Creativity.
- •This position involves Heavy Work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- •Must have the endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard ten (10) or twelve (12) hour day according to the schedule.
- •Must always wear personal protective equipment, i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses, ear protection, fire retardant clothing, as required and respirators when required.
- •This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.
