Job Description
The Development Engineering Intern will support the Clearway Development Engineering Team in the development of utility-scale solar, battery storage, and wind projects, gaining hands-on experience in project management and engineering tasks over a 10-week summer internship.
Responsibilities
- •Support the development of utility-scale PV, PV Storage, and stand-alone Energy Storage projects.
- •Review standard due diligence deliverables to finalize project scope, costs, schedule, energy output, and risks.
- •Review preliminary engineering deliverables for compliance with design requirements.
- •Write, edit, and review technical documents including scope of work, specifications, and feasibility studies.
- •Assist in reviewing and negotiating technical aspects of EPC contracts and interconnect agreements.
- •Coordinate with the Development team and external consultants to deliver engineering schematics and cost estimates.
- •Conduct site-specific analysis to identify environmental constraints and buildable areas.
- •Assist in technology and equipment assessments for internal reporting.
- •Improve and manage engineering dashboards and reports for project status updates.
- •Create and maintain a dynamic resource forecast for the team.
Requirements
- •Current juniors pursuing a bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
- •Basic understanding of solar and storage energy project scope, key equipment, and a fundamental awareness of core engineering principles associated with solar and stationary storage projects.
- •Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
- •Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- •Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
- •Strong interpersonal skills.
- •Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable.
- •Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
- •Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position H-1B, TN, E-3, J-1 etc. or provide any assistance in support of any other form of immigration sponsorship or benefit including OPT or CPT.
