Job Description
The Performance Engineering Intern will assist the Clearway Performance Engineering Team in predicting solar PV energy performance, conducting capacity tests, and analyzing project data, while gaining professional experience in a collaborative environment focused on renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- •Learn about PV performance modeling using PVSYST to assist various teams with solar facility evaluations.
- •Conduct weather resource assessments using satellite and ground-measured data.
- •Validate inputs and run soiling snow models in different climates and regions.
- •Analyze project data and simulation results to identify patterns and provide insights.
- •Generate high-quality reports to support optimized design and energy production.
- •Perform ad-hoc analyses to address specific business stakeholder issues.
- •Complete an individual project related to a key performance factor and present results.
Requirements
- •Current juniors or rising seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Statistics, Physics, or quantitative fields.
- •Ability to discuss technical concepts with both non-technical and highly-technical parties.
- •Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
- •Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- •Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
- •Strong interpersonal skills.
- •Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable.
- •Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
