Job Description
The Performance Engineering Intern will assist the Clearway Performance Engineering Team in predicting solar PV energy performance and conducting capacity tests, while gaining hands-on experience in renewable energy projects during a 10-week summer internship.
Responsibilities
- •Learn about PV performance modeling using PVSYST to assist various teams with solar facility evaluations.
- •Conduct weather resource assessments of satellite and ground-measured data.
- •Validate inputs and run soiling snow models in different climates and regions.
- •Analyze project data and simulation results to provide insights for optimized design and energy production.
- •Perform ad-hoc analyses to address specific business stakeholder issues.
- •Complete an individual project related to a key performance factor and present results to project leadership.
Requirements
- •Current juniors or rising seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Statistics, Physics, or a quantitative field.
- •Ability to discuss technical concepts with both non-technical and highly-technical parties.
- •Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
- •Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- •Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
- •Strong interpersonal skills.
- •Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable.
- •Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
