Job Description
The Performance Engineering Intern will assist the Clearway Performance Engineering Team in predicting solar PV energy performance, conducting capacity tests, and analyzing project data to support solar facility evaluations. This 10-week summer internship offers hands-on experience in renewable energy and exposure to real projects while collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities
- •Learn about PV performance modeling using PVSYST to assist various teams with solar facility evaluations.
- •Conduct weather resource assessments of satellite and ground-measured data.
- •Validate inputs and run soiling snow models in different climates and regions.
- •Analyze project data and simulation results to identify patterns and provide insights.
- •Generate high-quality reports in support of optimized design and energy production.
- •Perform ad-hoc analyses to address specific business stakeholder issues.
- •Complete an individual project related to a key performance factor and present results to project leadership.
Requirements
- •Current juniors or rising seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Meteorology, Statistics, Physics, or quantitative fields.
- •Ability to discuss technical concepts with both non-technical and highly-technical parties.
- •Advanced MS Office and Excel skills.
- •Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- •Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy.
- •Strong interpersonal skills.
- •Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable.
- •Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
