About the Role

As the Systems Test Lab Manager, you will play a critical role in helping Fluence deliver the next generation of energy storage technology through its suite of energy storage products. You must be a self-starter, able and willing to plan your work, and the work of others, to support Fluence business objectives, often without direct oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Determining how to accommodate new Fluence energy storage products in a controlled lab setting, which includes planning the initial set up, installation, and commissioning of these products
  • Maintaining the safe and efficient operations of the lab. Hands on work will be carried out by you and by people under your supervision including at least one lab technician and temporary third-party contractors
  • Ensuring the technical availability of the lab, testing equipment, and modifications as required to meet requirements of testing criteria
  • Assessing working conditions, identifying possible hazards, defining appropriate protective measures, selecting tailor-made work and equipment and coordinating work with others
  • Organize, support, and carry out the mechanical and electrical design, testing, commissioning and repair of test configurations and prototypes of battery storage systems
  • Occasionally work outside of normal work hours, if necessary, during periods of intense activity at the lab
  • Working closely with the Lab Program Manager to schedule and manage lab equipment setup in accordance with project schedules managed by the Product Development group management team
  • Creating lab documentation, including safety protocols, lab-specific work procedures, and lab setup drawings
  • Designing the instruction and training programs to establish electrically qualified personnel

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge in broad areas of engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety, Test/Validation)
  • Licensed electrician or electrical test engineer for low voltage power systems equipment (up to 1500Vdc/600Vac)
  • Familiarity with the NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Knowledge of inverter and battery technology, electrical machines, control and control technology
  • Basic knowledge of CAD
  • Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
  • Positive attitude and high motivation and enthusiasm for new things
