About the Role

The Chief Thermal Engineer will be the technical authority for the design, development, and validation of complex liquid cooling solutions for Fluence’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Responsibilities

  • Set Fluence’s engineering standards for design and development of liquid cooling systems for BESS.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all aspects of fluid systems design.
  • Ensure thermal designs meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability standards.
  • Oversee design of advanced custom chillers.
  • Utilize advanced simulation tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and thermal FEA.
  • Lead the testing and validation strategy of all liquid cooling systems.
  • Work closely with other Chief Engineers and with mechanical, electrical, and battery engineering teams.
