Fluence is seeking a Battery Module Engineer to lead the design and release of battery module thermal components.

This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in thermal management systems for battery modules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the thermal design and development of battery modules, ensuring alignment with overall system requirements and performance targets.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Update and maintain the design of the battery module thermal components, incorporating the latest industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure parts are released on time with high quality, driving supplier development and performance management.
  • Review and maintain supplier cold plate DFMEA, PFMEA, and end-of-line performance checks, ensuring robust quality control processes.
  • Work with the greater module team to ensure the overall performance, reliability, and manufacturability of the module, integrating thermal solutions seamlessly into the product design.
  • Identify opportunities to improve thermal performance through innovative design solutions and advanced material applications.
  • Resolve module engineering issues in the field related to thermal performance, providing expert guidance and support for troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Develop and refine module thermal component specifications, ensuring they meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the thermal management strategy for battery modules, including heat generation analysis, cooling system design, and thermal interface materials.
  • Lead thermal validation and verification activities, including simulation, prototyping, and testing, to ensure product reliability and performance under various operating conditions.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in thermal management, contributing to the strategic direction of the thermal engineering team.
