Job Description
The Policy Associate supports the Clean Transportation program by managing grant processes, coordinating meetings, tracking budgets, conducting research, and assisting with strategic communications to advance clean energy policies and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- •Oversee the full grantmaking process from proposal development to compliance review and approval
- •Process proposals, reports, grants, contracts, and invoices accurately in the tracking system
- •Conduct due diligence on proposals and grantees, including engaging with applicants and requesting revisions
- •Research potential grantees and solicit proposals from new applicants
- •Coordinate meetings, schedule calls, and manage calendars for program staff
- •Prepare drafts of proposals, reports, presentations, and other communication materials
- •Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and troubleshoot budget issues
- •Organize and facilitate program convenings and stakeholder meetings
- •Research sector news and prepare reports or visual aids on relevant topics
- •Support team collaboration, system improvements, and training new staff
- •Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders
Requirements
- •Strong experience managing complex projects and supporting multiple priorities managing competing deadlines and coordinating various aspects of the project management process, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion.
- •Understanding of the grants management process from start to finish, including tracking, compliance, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- •Demonstrated interest in climate and environmental policy or issue political campaigns.
- •Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
- •Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to follow tasks through to the end.
- •Demonstrated ability to productively collaborate with peers and colleagues and build strong professional relationships.
- •Digital savvy, including knowledge of digital platforms and comfort using online communication coordination tools, such as Salesforce, Asana, Zoom, etc.
- •Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, preferably in a Mac environment, and familiarity with Google Drive, Docs, and Box.
- •Ability to travel one to two times a year for three to four business days at a time.
- •The physical demands include extended hours at the computer and moderate levels of domestic travel.
- •The position requires the ability to perform essential functions in a remote work environment, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
