Job Description
The role involves leading utility and site design projects, managing them from conception to construction, mentoring team members, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, primarily focusing on water, sewer, stormwater, and utility infrastructure within a civil engineering context.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive utility and site design projects, including domestic water, fire protection, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Manage projects from conception through construction, overseeing technical and financial aspects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various utility and building projects.
- Mentor and guide less experienced team members in engineering practices.
- Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance with standards.
Requirements
- A Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Experience in leading comprehensive utility design and site design projects, including domestic water, fire protection systems, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Ability to manage projects from conception through construction, including technical and financial aspects.
- Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on utility and site design projects.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor newer team members and take ownership of project deliverables.
- Willingness to work out of the Downers Grove, Illinois office as part of the Rail division.
- Experience in utility coordination for building projects and industrial waste systems is required.
- Proficiency in managing project design efforts and leading design efforts for utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and oversight of utility and site design projects.
- Successful completion of a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
