Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing electrical systems for recycling equipment in a renewable energy company, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. The role involves technical problem-solving, system upgrades, and collaboration across teams to support the company's mission of sustainable solar panel recycling.
Responsibilities
- •Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical components of recycling equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- •Implement and oversee electrical systems for new equipment installations, ensuring safety and performance standards are met.
- •Install instrumentation and electrical components for process monitoring and control.
- •Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on electronic and pneumatic equipment.
- •Plan and manage electrical infrastructure upgrades to support equipment expansion and increased power demands.
- •Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot control systems such as DCS and PLCs, including Siemens systems.
- •Create, review, and update electrical diagrams, schematics, and control system documentation.
- •Conduct failure analysis and develop corrective actions using FMEA and FRACAS processes.
Requirements
- •BS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical degree
- •Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial electrical engineering design and development preferably within the recycling or sustainability sector
- •Experience with equipment installation, power distribution, and facility electrical infrastructure
- •Familiarity with Hands-on experience maintaining tools and equipment in a fast-paced production environment
- •Familiarity with electrical safety standards and local national electrical codes e.g., NEC
- •Ability to handle a physical workload, being on your feet for full days and lifting at least 50 lbs periodically
- •Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- •Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, especially by using tech-enabled project management tools like Smartsheet
- •Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex electrical mechanical issues quickly and effectively
- •Experience with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical components of full-scale production recycling equipment
- •Experience with implementing and overseeing electrical systems for new equipment installations to meet performance and safety standards
- •Experience with installing instrumentation and electrical components to enable continuous process monitoring of system parameters including electrical consumption
- •Experience with maintaining, modifying, and troubleshooting Distributive Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), with Siemens PLC systems highly desirable
- •Experience with creating, reviewing, and releasing detailed design, project management, and standard operational maintenance documentation
- •Ability to interpret, update, and create plant electrical diagrams
- •Experience conducting analysis of Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMEA) to identify risks and calculate probability of occurrence and criticality of failure modes for electrical equipment components
- •Experience conducting failure analysis and developing corrective actions in support of the Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process
